D-Tek Fuzion and i7 7700k
Would this waterblock work ok on the i7 7700k? If so, it would save me money to reuse the current cooler on my new build.

Probably not, it's 7 years old and was meant for LGA 775 socket. At least their product page doesnt say anything about LGA 1151 support.

waterblock why? good Air you get the same temps

So what is the differences between each waterblock regarding sockets?

OLD*MAN, air coolers are so big & bulky & I want to keep a cleaner look and more open inside the case.

Because lots of people don't like big blocks releasing heat in their case, although it seems people around here seem to think it's great.

Sure a dh-15 will only be a few degrees more than let's say an AIO like the 100i v2 but for a little extra cash you have a clean look and no big block rising the temp of you GPU and and other components.

LGA 775 socket mounting holes in motherboard were 72x72 square, LGA 1151 for i7-7700K are 75x75 square.
I think there are some adapter brackets but not sure if it would fit on waterblock and most likely your waterblock didnt have adapters like that with it since it was manufactured before the new sockets with new mounting hole distance like 1155, 1156, 1150, 1151 came out.

Sorry, but you are sooooo wrong, a custom loop is far cooler than an air cooler and looks sooooo much better.
Yes one or 2 of the top air coolers can match the 240 aio's, but once you have a very high oc, the 280's tend to pull ahead, and they look better, are easier to fit and don't put a large strain on the motherboard.

The D-tek came with a top bracket that had several holes for mounting, as in 3 per corner. There used to be another bracket but that's long gone. So if the holes match up, it should be good to go yes?

The performance of new blocks compared to your older one alone would probably be worth the cost of something like an ek supremacy.

If the holes in the bracket match up with 75x75 then it should be fine but that bracket could have been for mounting AMD CPUs and not necessarily match with LGA 1151.

It's been so long but I think this was specific to intel cpus only.
