Just the standard lead but with a different angle connector. Helps in some cases were drives are close to something, usually the side of case, and using an standard shaped connector causes cable to stick out to far resulting in excessive cable bending.

I didnt understand that, for clearing up: its 1 cable that came with my psu and it has 3 or 4 L-shaped connectors on the other side which could go in my sata drives, my question is: why are there more than 1 connectors

In case you need more.

More then 1 connector? Hmm cause most of us like to have like as many drives as we have SATA ports, that's why. Should never have just one drive.

thank you Omega, also: Do I need to supply my gpu with power with 2 seperate cables ?

Oh..... well that's even easier to answer.

It can be used to connect and power more than 1 drive using a single lead. I have a single lead powering my SSD and 2 HDDs. 1 cable = better cable management needed, better airflow and less wasted resources for needing multiple cables 1 ft or so in length.

Thank you !

Depends on the card some only have a single 6 or 8 pin others need both. Would need to check your card to know for sure. My GTX 1070 needs 1x 6-pin and 1x8-pin

Well yes, whatever 6 or 8 pin connections it has, u must plug in all of them.
Based around what the GPU requires.

It is a GTX 1080 EXOC

Right, so plug in whatever the GPU is asking for, simple as that.

That GPU needs a 6pin and a 8pin. Both need te be plugged in or the GPU will not work.

But I heard I have to use 2 seperate cables to power it, because in theory I could use one since it has 1x6 and 1x8

Most PSUs have 2 cables supplying approx 2x 6pin + 2x 8pin; this is done because the PSU has enough juice to support 2x GPUs.

If you have a single cable w/ both 1x 6pin + 1x 8pin yea one cable should be all u need.
