ASUS MG248QR won't run 144 hz!?!?!

I recently purchased a ASUS MG248QR and when ever I switch it from 60hz to 144hz my whole screen gets really fuzzy ive tried all the solutions on the forum and none of them work but when i switch my resolution from 1920 x 1080 to anything else it isn't fuzzy but my picture doesn't fit my screen and and everything is enlarged. If anyone could help I would much appreciate it thank you.

have a look at the settings of the monitor, when you see a picture. you should be able to fix the issue. else could be a wrong/ defective cable connection. imo.

What kind of cable are you using? It's important.

- Make sure Windows isn't messing with you, click start, click on the gear to open up settings, click on system, now under display, make sure the sliding bar is set to 100% nothing else.

- Visit your AMD / Nividia control panel, make sure it's set up right.

- Make sure your DVI-D / Display port are plug in properly, there's a chance you could got a bad cable, which you can replace for a cheap price if you have to, but if you got spare DVI-D / Display port test it out using the spare cable.

- Test your monitor on a spare PC if you have one, that has DVI-D / Display port.

- You could have a driver issue, which then you want to use DDU wipe the drivers in Windows safe mode, then download the latest, or older drivers you know that works, and see if that fix your issue.

Try 120 HZ at 1920x1080.

NVIDIA users should take note that you will not be able to get 144Hz with 1920x1080 by default in the latest drviers.
Page 41 of this document tells us that @144Hz you will only go as high as 1600x900 for 16:9 aspect ratios:

And there's your problem. DVI-D can't handle that framerate, it's mechanically limited to 85Hz/1080p and 60Hz/1440.

Try a Displayport(DP) cable instead.

Correction: SOME DVI-D cables don't support 120Hz at 1080p. Some do. Check your cable carefully.

AFAIK Dual Link DVI-D can go up to 120Hz 1440p, that's how people have been overclocking Korean monitors long before 144Hz 1440p monitor becomes affordable. 144Hz 1440p is a bit inconclusive, but for 1080p that's cake and several monitors support this.

The actual modes available depend on the capabilities of the display. In addition, the
NVIDIA graphics driver has a “dynamic EDID detection” capability and will make
available additional modes that are listed in the display EDID, provided the graphics
hardware can support it.

Ignore the previous post about NVIDIA driver 388.59 can't do 144Hz at 1080p lol.
