You simply put in wrong values for your RAM's speed and latencies, reset your BIOS and try the XMP profile.
What are your PC specs? If you bought anything recent you can simply select a XMP or AMP profile and the RAM would be set to the correct frequency, timings and voltage automatically.

Not necessarily. Last time I damaged a CPU socket, the PC ran normally for a couple of hours before it failed completely.
Hmm, I know the CPU isn't damaged, it must be the socket. I'll call MSI
