Is it normal for a ASUS ROG SWIFT PG279Q 27" monitor to flicker when you first turn it on ?

Ask on the Asus forum, you will find a better answer there, than here, also send in a ticket to Asus asking this very same question.

I recommend recording this with your camera to see what kind of flickering, in case anyone ask in advance, which can speed things up getting your answers.

Not normal. I have that exact model, and it doesn't do that on bootup. It doesn't flicker at all, at any point.

Look it could be a lot of things. It may not even relate to the monitor - you may have a PSU or GPU issue, an issue with that specific DP port, an issue with the cable, or it might just be a harmless quirk of that system.

Got another system handy with a DP port? Or a second DP port on the same system?

Yes I got another DP port on the same system.

Trying now. Will report back.

Ok the monitor still flickers on the other DP ports.

Do you have a spare DP, or another PC system that has DP, that Wolfie ask you about?

How long you has this Monitor? If you bought not too long ago, the store might exchange it for you, not it longer than the return policy limit, then you have to RMA to Asus.

2 to 3 days. Your right.

There is one problem though. There is no more in stock right now.

Get your money back then, just explain you just used it today for the 1st time, and was doing this weird flicker, and you got in contact with Asus telling you to return it.

It is amazing that just because I bought the monitor it is going in back order or out of stock everywhere. Glad I didn't say anything about it until I bought it! :)
