Other then that there is not much to do without replacing the CPU, motherboard and RAM.
The 1050ti is much better
What are you smoking?
The 1050Ti is a lot faster than the 750Ti, almost twice as fast.

Agreed, but requires a larger investment as it would require a new mainboard and new RAM as well.
thats the best you can do and it should be decent on a tight budget the cpu can really only handle about 1050ti
GTX 1050 Ti is pretty much equal to GTX 770 and GTX 960.
750ti performs about the same as the gt1030, the 1050ti is far more powerful.
To the op, sadly, the best bet is to save up for new CPU, mobo and ddr4 ram, as buying more ddr3 won't really do you any good when you come to upgrade properly.
The thing is if you do upgrade your cpu you will need a new motherboard / ram / cpu heatsink / and possibly a new computer case depending on your current case.
You will also need to ad the cost of a new OS if you are using a oem version of windows as a new motherboard will do that.
If your current computer is that old it may be time for most new things like a power supply also as they are not that expensive and will help with a newer build especially if your power supply is getting old.
If you're struggling with games from the dragon age, just cause, or (insert any game with high IPC name here) series, a new cpu / ram / mobo may be a better first upgrade. Otherwise a GPU may be a more sensible / budget friendly upgrade.

TBH, ^ the GTX1050ti is the new entry level card and the GTX750ti is about half that so if you're going to keep the GTX750ti there's not any point swapping out anything else.
I'd start with the GTX1050ti the FX6100 should manage it within reason then dig up some cheap used ram from recyclers or buy/sell forums.

An old GTX 750ti bench ^ and a GTX1050ti would be around or slightly below the HD7970 so the GTX 750ti is very weak.
