No, they plug into that Corsair Controller, just control the speed from that.
If you plug them into non-RGB Motherboard, then u lose all lighting control without using that Controller.
Actually, they don't, the rgb cable connects to the controller, the fan itself needs a separate header, each fan has 2 cables, I'm wiring up 11 of them right now hehe.
I think the commander pro let's you use it as a fan hub as well and unlocks more lighting options, however, that's another £60, but isn't needed.
I thought they all plugged into what they call the fan hub as well, as that would of made sense.
RGB stuff is about as useful as a box of rocks.
Buy good fans, not cheap lighting fans. Lighting is best done by strips.
Thanks for the info. Currently fans are plugged into case, not to motherboard . Case has a controller . So if these fans come with different header for lightning , i can plug it in to comander. And speed controller to the case.
Saying all this, no rgb stuff should ever even be considered at the expense of actual useful performance in your system, but, if you can afford them, by all accounts the hd120/140's are great fans first, and great lighting option rolled into one, you just need to forget about the cost, and only use them if the money isn't better spent elsewhere.
The fans also draw 13w each which is more than quite a few fan controllers can offer it seems, so might want to check your fan controller is good enough, alot I found only had 10w per channel which would be ok for single fans but if you need to use splitters, it may not be (admitedly not really an issue for most people my build is a tad on the extreme side of things).
