How do I open the NVIDIA Control Panel?

im on windows 10, when i right click my desktop and click the nvidia control panel an error comes up saying "NVIDIA display settings are not available- you are not currently using a display attached to an nvidia gpu" what does this mean and what should i do to be able to open the control panel

You have your monitor plugged in to the motherboard and not in to the GPU.

Check your display connection, maybe u connected your display to on board connector.

Power down the PC, plug Display(s) into NVIDIA GPU only. Power on the PC.
If option to do so after this, also disable the Onboard GPU and avoid using that.

If the OS is new/fresh, then also wipe out the NVIDIA GPU Drivers and go get the very latest version from NVIDIA.com or Geforce.com
