So you necro this one year old discussion why? Also read what was already said, the old FM is a dead platform, and serious just wasting time, and money as there's far better options that's long term.
I was kinda bored lmao, and not everyone here has enough money to buy a new lga 1151 or an am4 motherboard and ddr4 memory
Motherboard: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5384891&CatId=9594
Cpu: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6468492&sku=40999880
Memory: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1790023&CatId=11647 (about 2 sticks of these is enough lol)
It’s about 3x of what the best fm2+ amd athlon costs
Lga 775 is also a dead socket but some people still prefer using the best quad core of the socket instead of buying new lga 1151 parts since its cheaper (also fm2+ is a 2014 socket so it isnt necesarily old lmao)
As I said there's far better options than the FM platform, you just be wasting time and money for a side upgrade, the AMD 880k APU is low as $65 used to $90 brand new, which is really pointless, as newer APUs/CPUs, or can get intel old 2nd gen or newer i5 used would complately blow that FM platform, and top of that you would need to get a new motherboard, with RAM, so you can be looking at $100 - $230 used to new hardware set ( APU/CPU + Mobo + RAM ) again far better options for the long term, as you be looking at 70%+ better IPC, which is a huge jump.

Right now there's no reply from OP about the budget, full specs as that be in question of case, PSU, and amount of RAM OP currently have in the FM build.

Welp, i got an fm2+ pc for christmas a year ago and now i need to save 250$ to buy a new motherboard and ddr4 ram now that i only have 50$ saved since i used 300$ to buy an rx 560 and a curved monitor

avoid tigerdirect

for online stores use newegg or amazon instead

or if you can drive to a microcenter thats the best option
https://www.microcenter.com/site/stores/default.aspx

cpu/mobo and accessories are their best deals
ram, gpus and drives are spendy there, but you can get the entire build
they will match newegg and a few other online store prices

That’s kinda expensive tbh
Since it doesnt include the gpu

Yeah... thats pretty much normal price for anything decent without a GPU

2200G / 2400G has a decent onboard GPU
AMD Vega series DX11/DX12 Win10 GPU

Later on down the road when have more funds; add a beefier dedicated GPU Card and maybe more HDD storage.

With a 2400G you'd basically be on-par with Ryzen 1600 + GTX 1050 2GB

Even the best would still be terrible. The FM2+ socket and all it's APUs were an abysmal design failure.
as a previous athlon 750k user this makes me sad
Saying like it is. Saying it like a current AMD CPU user.
The non-RyZEN APUs were terribly weak. Not that the Phenoms or FX were great.

Yes but still, facts are facts, no ways around it.
Nothing on the FM2 platforms comes remotely close to the CPU performance of an FX6 or FX8

And in comparison; a cheap 6th Gen Pentium runs circles around all of those FM2 or AM3 CPUs in modern gaming for the most part, as long as the game is not heavily relying on strong multi-threaded performance, Pentium stomps them in single core performance, which is still what MANY games rely on sadly. FX8 at least can still run modern games just fine for the most part, FM2 APUs/CPUs, yea not so much.

something like a 2200G or 2400G would be like a night vs day difference over an FM2 or AM3 based CPU and is also very affordable while also providing a decent enough GPU onboard to run pretty much any Games out there with more than decent playable results @ 1080p Medium/High

Actually the radeon vega integrated graphics are pretty much like a gt 1030

No it is not; its on par with GTX 1050 Ti
It can run plenty of games very well @ 1080p @ 30+ FPS like Wolfenstein II for example
Again if getting one, opt for the 2400G over a 2200G.
2200G is much more entry-level, not nearly as good for Gaming.

Are you sure? Then what is this?
https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GT-1030-vs-AMD-RX-Vega-8-Ryzen-iGPU/m283726vsm441833
The radeon vega 8 isn’t as powerful as you think, the only thing that makes the ryzen run wolfenstein II at 30 fps is the cpu more than the gpu
IDK why this is still going.

Vega 8/11 = GT 1030. The Vega 8 / 11 from the Ryzen APU's were never on par with GTX 1050, and definitely not the 1050 Ti.

if you use the cheapest crap ram available the apu will give crap benches
if you pair it with fast ram it will do alot better

most oems that use that cpu/apu will pair it with 2133 ram, maybe with a single dimm

it could be close or beat a 1030 depending on ram
but hitting 1050 performance is a far stretch for the apu
