Preformance difference between FX 8350 vs FX 8370

I know there best by today's budget cpus but I already have everything besides a am3 CPU and there the best of there fx cpus without requiring special 220watt board keep in mind I'm not overclocking they will be running stock out of box games for I reference I play are Arma3,DayZ,GtaV,Witcher3,skyrim,far cry 3 the others I will not mention because they are really low requirements

Ignore FX.

Period.

Go for Intel or Ryzen.

Arma 3 is especially bad for AMD. Even Ryzen struggles with it due to the game engine.

The jokes about AMD FX is that even AMD Gaming Evolved title like Total War Warhammer does not recommend any AMD FX.

best budget CPU are Ryzen 3 1200 or Intel Pentium G4560/G4600 which rock any FX CPU away for same price.

ARMA 3 runs best with Intel and high frequency RAM which would require a Z270 Motherboard. GTA V even profits from an i7 but an i5 should be the minimum to go. Witcher 3 espacially with HD mods are at the same level.

Seems like you are stuck with AM3 for the time being. Probably getting a Used CPU is a better idea, doesn't matter 8350 or 8370, they all suck, just get the cheapest you can find.

I thought Witcher 3 was more GPU-bound than CPU-bound, but otherwise yeah.

Witcher 3 is easiest of the bunch and even an AMD FX-6300 can do 70-80 fps no problem. Game barely uses CPU.

Well, that true as long as you don't enter novigrad. The city scene is quite CPU bounded.

GTA 5 gets less fps on FX8350 but it's still more than playable high settings/1080p on Rx580 or GTX1060 6GB.

Far Cry 3 and 4 no problem again provided you've got a good gpu I used R9 280x it played fine mostly high settings / 1080p, Rx 580/ GTX1060 6GB haven't tried them out yet.

^ keep in mind the original Titan is weaker than GTX 1060 6Gb or Rx 580. Titan Black/GTX 780 Ti is more akin to GTX 1060 6Gb and stronger than the gtx Titan original.

the 8350 and 8370 are almost identical. Both are supported by your motherboard with it's first BIOS v1. There is a new BIOS from may this year you can install anytime you wish.
Try and get the CPU with the Wraith cooler (8370?) if you don't have a decent cooler already.
