You can safely go up to (and even slightly over) 1,3v.

The mobos overclocking software tried to det it to 1.5v earlier.

Auto OCs always overvolt.

Im using the software from desktop, but it controls the bios but it wont apply on boot so it wont go wrong.

Always OC via BIOS.

If the OC is bad and the PC does not post reset the BIOS by pulling the CMOS battery for a couple of minutes.

Whats the difference with this it isnt applied upon start so if it goes wrong it wont be applied on restart so it just boots with default settings.

Im looking in CPU-Z its using all the settings i have set its at 4.8GHZ, its only at about 75c, its at 1.265v

That is the issue. It doesn't auto apply on post. It will have to be applied while the OS is running.

Go ahead and run Prime95 for 24 hours then.

CPU-z only puts a very light load on the CPU. 75c with CPU-z = 100c with Prime95.

Still you need to test the OC stability. CPU-z is pretty bad for stability testing.

But prime 95 will generate far more heat then anything i do from day to day, so it kinda seems superfluous

Stabilaty tesing isn't about heat. It's about testing if the OC is stable or not. You will get random BSODs if the OC is not stable. Prime95 and AIDA64 are the easiest ways to check for stabilaty due the the amount of stress they put on the system.

Why prime95??
For examply: If I increase the overclock on my rig by 100mhz the PC will appear to run fine on the desktop but once I run Prime95 it will BSOD withing a few secs - 1 minute. Meaning it's running unstable.

is their any other way of telling if it unstable
