wow
But yea give it at least a couple weeks. Most tech makers take a break in Dec/Jan so I really wouldn't expect anything soon.
Well yes, it affects everyone running anything Intel that is using 6th, 7th, or 8th Gen
As well as others... it's all listed in Post#2 above via the official Intel Corp link
Like I said, the update tool they provided won't run. there's an "meupdate" and a "peupdate" meupdate says it can't open intel.io or something and the peupdate just fails. All I could do was update the bios and the Management engine driver.
Link it? All I see online is they offer a tool to detect if you have this vulnerability or not, Intel can't offer no update tool for your Motherboard. All updates have to come directly from the Board maker, such as via a BIOS update.
Wait for the motherboard manufacturer to release a BIOS update that addresses this issue. It might take a month or two before they patch it on your board.

it'll show up if you enter windows 10 x64 as the OS.
Its listed under bios.
What ASUS is suggesting is users Update their Intel Intel® Management Engine software.
Just uninstall that and get latest Intel Chipset INF as far as that goes.
Intel ME should never be installed, you don't need it.
shows up as a missing device in device manager if I don't.
Then run IObit Driver Booster

please read this... this vulnerability with the INTEL cpu and the motherboard that controls the interactions of the cpu
linux has already found a way to disable the security threat with any debian based os using a targeted firmware intel me disabler (only on linux)

furhter research here
this will be a massive network of firmware delivery and will take time intel dropped the ball on this one BUT the security risk is relatively low
