and Disable Turbo and Cool & Quiet.
Leave the # of Cores alone.
You shouldn't have to raise VCore to achieve this.
Then again I put my voltage on "Normal" on my Gigabyte B350 Gaming 3 for Vcore so it won't do what it wants. Do you maybe have that set to "Auto"? Or could just be that your chip is nicer than mine also lol.
What GPU are you using?
Radeon RX 580
That GPU is mainly for gaming at 1080p, right? Also try turning SMT(AMD equivalent of HT) off, it might help cuz your CPU is fine, You can also check what to expect by googling Ryzen 7 1700 + XYZ RAM + RX 580 + name of the game.
You needn't OC, (50-60FPS is to be expected) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NC0TRJo5wk4

Overclocking my CPU from stock seems to get solve this issue and I noticed that Vsync being ON causes adds to the FPS drop issues with this game as well with AMD GPUs apparently.
But thats not my main issue. I just want know why is it that when I disable my Ryzen Cores, did SLEEP options dissappear in Windows 10? Like has anyone else experienced this?? Is this something that is suppose to happen??
AFAIK i think it is normal to lose that option when CPU is OC'ed but not stable, but it never hurts to ask.
http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/troubleshooting/41762-does-overclocking-affect-comps-ability-sleep.html
Yeah the problem he is having is understandable. But my. Problem is that I completely don't have the option for sleep when I turn off cores with my CPU. With all 8 Cores and SMT enabled overclocked to 3.55GHz, everything works fine, sleep and all.
When I disable 2 cores the option for sleep is literally not there. In the shutdown off option that you can click to restart your PC where you have options "Shutdown", "Restart", and "Logoff". Sleep is suddenly not there...but when I enable all cores back, it's there again. Sleep also dissappears from power options too, not in "high performance" , "balance" or "power saving".
As i understand you want someone to confirm this as normal. I can't do so, since i don't experiment with turning cores on or off. You could post your question on Tom's Hardware , a lot of people with good knowledge there. GIve it a title like Disabling cores makes sleep mode vanish/inaccessible.
I once OC'ed and fried my CPU , i think, so I keep everything at stock settings hence forth
Almost couple years ago I still had a i5 2500k running at 4.6GHz for a few years before that.
I was thinking of upgrading but before I did that, I wanted to see if I can get some more out of it. I was pushing for 5GHz, got to it to 5GHz and ran prime95 and PC shut right down and it wouldn't post anymore.
Funny thing is though, I got it to post once and I started turning cores off and it literally was only stable with 1 core enabled smh..
I mean, what I was doing, that was kind of expected to happen but it took a lot of voltage for it to fry. It's not easy to fry a CPU unless you're just being crazy with the voltage and letting your Temps ran away. .
I didn't know jack abt voltages back then , i must have increased it by insane amt of volts :(((. I still dunno how many volts to increase
