such things does not exist, all have hardware and software "rootkits" that reduce the resource
all have disgusting code and usability
all materials are more expensive than the blood of babies ...
so that the EPSON L\M series or Canon PIXIMA + blood of babies + parchment from the skin of programmers, that writing code for drivers and software supplied with printers
Nothing compares to this. Oh yeah!
Brazer\OKI not bad for monochrome printing...
1) I'd rather have a really good printer and a really good scanner than something that does both but not as well.
2) If one part of it stops working, you need to replace the whole thing.
We have an HP laser printer that I've been thinking of replacing (nothing wrong with it, just 10 years old) and a scanner that was specifically bought to get high-res scans of photos.
It purely depends on what you're using it for though. Eg for 95% of users the scan on a multifunction is high enough dpi for most holdhold projects. Mine is 1200 dpi and I do graphic design and most artwork doesnt even require anything above 600dpi! Unless you plan to to do some crazy big advertising project or super high res digital work it's sufficient. As for print quality of a multifunction it's super high! mine is 5760 x 1440 DPI that's waaaay more than enough. And if you buy a laser printer the print speed is as good if not very close to the industrial ones.
black printing ~4000 pages.
2nd for home use I'm really happy with my WiFi Canon MG3600 Multi function. It prints from all 4 WiFi and hardwired computers and the android phone and tablet.
There's even times it goes on sale for a tiny bit more than new ink tanks.
Next is to look up the type of common issues with the products, if they're simple enough to solve, or a real hassle, which all multi-purpose printer are going to have some kind of issue down the road, and you just want to know if it the product you want that be simple enough to fix yourself.
The brand I have been using for over 10 years is Canon, as it's used almost everyday in my home, the only time I ever had issue with it was a print code error, which was simple fix for me by force hard resetting the system with a few buttons pushed down for a few seconds, and that's about it, only happen twice within the past 10 years I had it, which is really simple, and easy enough to fix.
