MX150 if not thermal throttle is almost 60% faster than 940MX. It can run games fine at 720p low/medium e.g The Witcher 3 medium 720p 50fps.

I have a laptop with GTX 960M which is pretty much the same performance as MX150. The thing is 960M laptop usually feature better cooling and more power to reach that potential, some MX150 are in Ultra thin laptop which would have temp problem and would be downclocked.

They're fine on power, the problem is cooling. As Boom Boom said, an Ultrathin isn't going to handle gaming loads very well, and it'll probably overheat and throttle.

I would just buy a GTX, and save myself the potential trouble.

They are actually not fine on power even. On my cheapo Alienware 13 R2, if I disable the laptop screen and run on external monitor I gain 20% performance on the GTX 960M. Even power distribution is severely limited for Ultra thin laptop.

Computers have a funny way of giving you what you pay for. I would go with an MSI or Asus, buying a no-name brand rarely ends well.

MSI, Asus, Gigabyte heck even Dell ok. You get what you pay for, cheaper (or thinner) laptop means limited performance even with same components.

Unless you are made of money then you can buy Clevo mobile desktop range, which is big, heavy, loud and powerful. i7-8700k GTX 1080 SLI "laptop"? No problem.

No problem, until you actually want to move it. At which point you usually have to hire a crane, or at least a fork-lift.

Next gen Clevo confirmed; Weighing sixteen tons, powered by a 48 litre diesel generator and throwing more heat than my mother's Paella recipe, it's literally an IBM Alpha 2 mounted on a tracked chassis. Comes with an optional cooling pad, deployable from a custom-built semi truck.

Oh you know Clevo would do a portable Supercomputer if you asked them nicely enough.
