What CPU Temperature Is Too Hot For A Laptop?

On Intel’s website it says Tjunction is 100°C. I get around 80-90°C while gaming.

How are laptops designed to cope with heat? A desktop would throttle like crazy around 90°C.

And no most desktops will throttle at 95c.

Get a lap cooler like the Thermaltake v20[www.walmart.com], IMHO will extend the life of the laptop in the long run on the cheap.

Once every six months blow it out with a air compressor or canned air.

I didn't either, until I replaced a 3rd cpu fan on an ultrabook hand-me-down that was used by little ones for gaming.

Why is it running quite warm? Dusty, sitting in sunlight or warm stuffy room? You have it running 24/7?

An average temperature for a laptop would be around 50 to 55 degrees celsius. At max usage, it might get up to 75c. Typically anything under 80-85 is safe. If it's reaching up to 90-100c or you notice it's not stable temp, rather it keeps rising up, then you might want to worry.
