Mouse upgrade for FPS - worth it?
I'm using a budget Logitech G300 gaming mouse which is optical, capable of quickly switching between preset DPI values and has configurable buttons. I'm considering to buy a G502 or some Razer product. Their DPI range is obviously much higher but I don't expect any functional benefits other than better precision (current one already has DPI switch and buttons).

I recently started to play more FPS games but I'm pretty bad at them so it's not that I'm looking for the small plus to make me elite. Should I expect an improvement in my reactions, aiming etc? How much better these mid-classes devics are?

Go for the G502 and avoid Razer if you want quality products. The G502 has one of the best sensors for gaming mouses and is not very expensive so go for it.
It won't improve your playing ability noticeably(or really at all). If you suck now, you'll still suck with a good mouse.

If he has a cheap mouse then the better sensor will help him a lot, i can say this because of my experience as in 2 years with a crap sensor i still played like s*** then i bought G502 and i improved a lot in matter of 1-2 months.

The g300 isn't a terrible mouse.
The only thing that will improve are ergonomics and sensor accuracy. But I have noticed I play slightly better with a gaming mouse compared to a new one.
If budget is not a strong consideration, I'd suggest the G900.

I had lots of mice like G502, Mionix Avior, Steelseries Rivals and this feels better than all of them.

Not terrible but not the best sensor.
Thanks I'm buying the G502. Watched some videos and I like the ergonomics and extra features (much more buttons, DPI indicator LED, wheel modes etc)

And it's BF

besides good palyers play at around 800 DPI not higher. Its commen made mistake that higher DPI would be better.

in fps you go for low DPI for better accuracy... at least all the good players do which information you find easily online.

This is very true^ high dpi is a marketing gimmick when it comes to mice made for shooters.
It's a play style. Lower dpi means you need to move your arm further which means you can be more accurate easier, to compensate they tend to have the sensitivity up a bit more in game, personally I've never got on like that (a good long while ago I was actually good now I'm old and slow lol) and go the opposite way, 6400dpi with in-game sensitivity all the way down, the high dpi picks up the slightest of movement. Which can seem skittery and you definitely need to have a steady hand compared to low dpi, the biggest downside is it makes any kind of mouse acceleration REALLY noticeable.

Everyone uses different DPI settings, for example i use 2400 and i am really good with it, someone could play with 3000 and someone else with 600 and have the same results and stats in game. It's all matter of getting used to it.
I would think DPI is not the only thing to watch about precision and sensor quality but I'm just guessing
