whats the diffrence between a gtx 1050 ti and gtx 980 ti?

i'm planing on building my first gaming pc on a budget, under 500$ which will use a gtx 1050 ti, but i wanna know if i should get a gtx 1050 ti or a gtx 980 ti

If he's somehow stuffing a 980ti into a $500 budget, either something's wrong with his build or that card.

How much are you getting the 980ti for, and where are you buying it from? I'd be concerned about high-end components being sold for that low, as a lot of them probably have some sort of defect.

A new 980 ti costs more then your entire budget.. $600 or more.

GTX980ti parallel to GTX1070.

So the reality is there's a huge difference.

Depends on your budget. However I'd go for the 980ti. It's much more powerful than the 1050ti, which is only as powerful as a GTX 960.

^This may be a smart thing to do, but don't wait for the i3's wait for the Pentiums. If we are lucky those CPUs will release early next year.
