WD My Passport for gaming
Hi guys my work files are taking up my space on my work+gaming laptop so should i play my games directly from an external HDD, (WD My Passport 1TB)? Will it affect the lifespan of my drive?

Compared to say, any other Drive? Of course not.

However unless its an actual USB 3.0 Drive, it's gonna be super slow at best.

Preferably not with an external hard disk even with USB3 connection due to loading speed.

FPS doesn't really have anything to do with it all; it's more about texture popin and such, which can still occur at slow rates without effecting the FPS.

If the game works fine, so be it... all drives die... so hey... whatever.

If you get an esata HD caddy and drive for it, it may work as well as an internel drive.

Like anything has eSATA anymore; that's been dead for so long, thanx to USB 3.x

eSATA HDD caddy still present, but eSATA on laptops and mobo dead since ~2012
New have USB3.1\C\Thunderbolt, that faster - 10Gbit/sec
But latest updates W10 have problem with some controllers USB3.x
