Noctua NH-L9i Processor cooler

Anyone got one of these? I just ordered one for my I74790 as the stock fan has started making an annoying noise even at low rpms. This make seems to be overall the best out there.

It's probably normal to some people but to me it's annoying.

Well, I just figured out that I have read your original post completely wrong. I thought that your new Noctua fan keeps annoying noise but instead it was Intel cooler....

I installed the Noctua NH-U12S today, There was a millimeter to spare (less room to spare than I measured) so I was pretty lucky that it just fit, I obviously had to take the fans off of the inside of the side of the case.

I took a while trying to get the heat sink screwed to the mounts, I had to loosen one of the mounts up a tiny bit so I could screw the haat sink down on both sides, a bit too tight of a fit I think but it's all screwed down tight now and is silent.

Well worth it too, will cool a heck of alot better.
FYI, you don't need any side panel fans when using a tower cooler, as those become pointless.

I am really happy with it :) I could of went for that huge one but it would of been extreme, I stopped using the side fans a while ago but I still had to take them out to make room for the new cooler, I swapped the sides around whilst I was at it so the vented (former fan side) is facing away from me so even less noise.
