Another ram question
Seems like a day of ram questions so here's mine.

I'll start with my specs
ASUS P7P55D-E LX motherboard
I7 870 CPU @4ghz
16 gigs 1600mhz ram 4x4gig
GTX 1070

My question is
I have ram set to run 1600 in bios
When it boots the splash screen shows it's running 1600
Cpuz shows 800mhz so I'm assuming 1600 dual channel ?

But when I open task manager and click performance then click memory it only shows it running 1066mhz. I really hope not or I'm loosing some performance somewhere.

Any ideas ?
Sorry for the long post felt the easiest to get the whole idea across

Thanks

What u need to do just try it on "AUTO" or "SPD"
Then go into Windows and load up CPU-Z
In there you will see the available profiles (all might not be shown though)
So for example, look at the 1600 or XMP profile and what it lists under that for the Cas Timings and Voltage; then take note of those and go apply them in the BIOS.

Here's an example:
Memory tab shows active settings

SPD tab shows slot+memory info, and available profiles based on installed RAM

Looks like you are right.
Should I change it ?
Shouldn't it be faster set at 9 ?

No; if you are going to run at 1600Mhz (that 800Mhz profile); then u want to abide by the settings shown there.
