Mic glitchy when playing different high ram usage games. [help]
Hi, i'm Hyroix, and I today just got a microphone. It's brand new, and I also ordered a wind screen and a boom arm to go with it. When I hopped into Counter Strike, my mic was heavily distorted and it popped alot. I use a built in sound card on my motherboard, and if you're wondering: my Samson GO-Mic is hooked up to the front usb port of my tower.

Other notes:
* It sounds fine in Skype, Discord, and TS.
* This also occured with my Blue Snowball iCE.
* I run windows 10, and yes, my drivers are up to date.

Could I get some help? Thanks!

edit: moved to direct port, plugged usb into sound card, and restarted my os. all good now :)

edit 2: Nevermind!! Issue still persists!!

I have this problem too, pls help
If you connect a audio device to your PC via USB it will not use your sound card.

It is probably a compatibilaty issue since it is a portable mic that you connect via USB, same story with your old mic. Connect it via headphone jack or optical directly to you sound card or to the front panel headphonejack (if it's connected to the sound card).

Try the back, hook it up directly to the motherboard.
Yes, use the Rear USB 1.1/2.0 Ports for things that are NOT USB 3.x

USB devices have their own codec/driver; they never use your "Sound Card"

I tried this, and it did improve the mic quality overall, however, I'm listening to the mic feedback as I speak to my team, and it is good when I take the mic feedback directly from the pc, but is bad from csgo. Is there anyway I can fix what csgo is doing to the audio?
Use Headphones + stand-alone Mic

If you intend to use Speakers, first you need a high quality directional Mic

What do you mean? I have headphones and a microphone?
Try setting up Windows Playback and Recording; both your devices for 16bit, 48Khz

Some games have issues when using 24bit

IF you do not want to hear yourself talking:

- Right click volume icon in task bar.
- Select "Recording Devices"
- Select your microphone.
- Select "Properties"

In one of the tabs you will see the option to "Listen to this Device". I'm not sure if that was your question, but if it is, that will do away with that.

Listen to Device is never on by default.
However the Mic volume in Playback might be on. Mute that.
I think he meant that he is listening to the feedback deliberately

I was listening to my voice on purpose.

Yea don't apply "Listen to Device"
Just go into Playback volume settings and un-mute Mic and adjust that volume.

This isn't helping...its not the microphone itself (im pretty sure) I think its CSGO.
Well games like CSGO rely on whatever Steam is setup for, which for Steam, relies on what Windows Playback/Recording is setup for; so it is relevant.
