I always heard that while the CPU its self is usually more powerful, Intel's iGPU's were much less powerful than AMD's
The R7 is moved to legacy if I remember correctly, meaning it does not get driver updates anymore.
Also those APUs are ancient and outperformed by much cheaper modern CPUs.
Often also it happened mainly because games where better optimized for Radeon as onto Intel HD.
If you want truly game, get a system which has a dedicated GPU, ideally a desktop. Laptops suck.
Everything on AMD FM2 is way sub par for moderrn day Gaming, period.
All are below a simple $50-60 Pentium class.
Save up and go for Intel or AMD Ryzen.
Otherwise you're just throwing money away.
Get at least Ryzen-3 or better.
I believe Raven Ridge is the Ryzen APU series and it isn't out yet, though there are a few "leaks."
Good advice for the present.
@OP Truth is you'll get much better gaming performance from a Ryzen 3 or hyperthreaded Pentium w/ an RX 560 or GTX 1050 than from an APU, and you won't spend that much more money. And since the new APU's are on AM4, you'll need a new motherboard & ram whatever you decide.
Look at Ryzen-3 or better and an actual GPU that can run games smoothly, like GTX 1050 Ti or better.
