I doubt VRAM will ever be "combined" in that way.
Nothing below 6GB VRAM should have been a consideration to a user wanted to do DX12 anyways.
And if anything, single GPUs are also getting better, and no one seems to even want to care to have SLI/CFX be on their list of game features. Even NVIDIA and AMD don't seem to care, they shrug their shoulders and move on to the next driver...
Mind you, I don't think I'll need that now as 22GB seems overkill lol, as you said, GPU Vram made a huge leap this generation making it not even worth the effort to develop shared Vram on new cards.
It does not do magic over DX11 like it claimed. It has gone no-where-fast is all it has done.
Yeah, although, nearly 4 years on its finally starting to have some benefits lol, got to say it's not been the game changer it was looking to be when they introduced it.
Ashes of the Singularity has a Vulkan option
IT SUCKS
So no, Vulkan is Not the answer.
Actually thats incorrect
It runs perfectly fine on DX11 and DX12, but on Vulkan the performance is worse.
Not really, you can get the air-cooled ones for around $200 or less, no problem.
Liquid cooled version for around 250-300 range, such as MSI Cooled by Corsair, or EVGA Hydro.
But yes, always ensure that what is listed, is what you're getting.
If says new, then it better be still sealed in the box.
Open Box should be considered "used" because there is no way to tell just how used it is.
It's like saying "Oh yea that jar of pickles had the seal broken, but they appear all all be inside, untouched" the point being, if seal is broken, then it's tainted in some way or used... simple as that.
It's still just a very poor example, and a lazy dev who doesn't care.
On something like DOOM 2016, Vulkan helped a ton. If the dev cares and actually works on what they promise to deliver, it can be better.
DX12 is still not showing us anything worth while yet. Except from Microsoft's Forza series, which is about all. DX12 is still trash in HITMAN and Rise of Tomb Raider...
As for DOOM
The game type is probably the major difference, not as many things going on in an FPS like there is with an RTS.
shrug
either way, not thrilled with Vulkan.
