Port forward attempt 2
Ok so I have my ports forwarded. 9000-9005 with target port of 9003
I followed a guide to set a static ip finally so now i have one on my computer which i have used as the port forward ip
I host a game on a site called Byond and it gives me byond://173.31.142.77:9003 this ip to join the game which isn't even close to the ip i forwarded and have no clue what the ip is. The game fails to host despite me doing everything. My ip(also forwarded) is a 192.168.0.xxx
I try to forward just port 9000 and use it with the ip Byond says I have an it also fails.
My firewall is allowing the program through

If it helps, I did this> https://portchecker.co/scanning-result and all of them are closed...

Make sure the port forward is assigned to the Internal IP of the PC that needs to be routed in the router settings

which would be
192.168.1.3 for example

The Internal IP for the PC in question would be listed in the router settings.

also make sure you do UDP and TCP, or whichever one it prefers.

I have made a static ip on my computer and used that ip which my router even agrees on
It says ALL my ports even the default needed are closed

Update: Its router based not computer. I tryed the link i posted on my phone and none of the basic ports are open. I suppose i'll get in touch with my isp...

Probably your ISP gave you IP address from private address space (RFC1918) and performs NAT itself. So, all packets to your PC should go through two NATs - ISP and your router.
In this case, it is necessary that the Internet provider also configured port forwarding.

I read that if the public ip i see on router is the same on IP check websites then I do not go through 2 NATs and it is the same. Weird
Any 192.168... IP is a private IP address. In order for anyone to connect to you from the Internet, they would need to know your PUBLIC IP address on the WAN side of whatever connects to your ISP. The 173. IP you list is on media.com, so I assume that is your public IP on media.com cable. Do you know if media.com blocks any ports (other than possibly 25 and sometimes incoming 80)?

But I am not familiar with the game and how that would work trying to forward a group of ports to a single port. Have you tried simply port forwarding port 9003 to 9003 on the LAN IP of your server? Then go to http://canyouseeme.org/ which should show your current public IP, and with your server running, see if port 9003 is open or closed.

Ok, final update: ....
So my very first port forward attempt was to simply select my computer from the list on my router's page. No static ip, it would change each comp reboot........I spam it like that, hopeful. Nothing.
I get out of live chat with a complete idiot Level 1 IT who says to do what I did for my very first attempt
I decide to just humour her and she must have flipped a switch otherwise there is no way it would now be working.

or
what you did before was incorrect

and what you did this last time was the correct way to do it
-

but if you got it working, thats what matters.
