Will a Core I7-6700K 4.00 GHz bottleneck a 1050ti? (yes or no)
I was wondering about getting a new CPU, and so then I remembered about my graphics card, so now I'm wondering if the new CPU I'm looking to get will bottleneck my 1050ti

Not even close, you could rock a 1080 ti with no issues.

Not even close and a 1080 ti would run fine are both big no's to any sort of bottleneck.
No it won't be an issue.
Are you looking to buy the 6700k and 1050ti?
If so, is the CPU an upgrade going into a z170 motherboard you already own ?
No the 1050 ti will be the bottleneck
Getting such powerful cpu for a gpu like this is a waste
What is your current cpu?

The opposite will be true; it's your GPU that'll be the weak link.

no

The only smart answer.
Answer: No it won't bottleneck your GTX 1050ti.

The GTX 1080 Ti is > > > > > > > > > > > better than the GTX 1050 Ti, as in the 1080Ti is 300% more better than your GTX 1050 Ti, if that wasn't clear enough.

This thread is great.
Let's make it great.
I think it depends what CPU you have now. That i7 is a overkill for a 1050 Ti, since that CPU is high-end and the 1050 Ti is a lower mid-class.

i7 is usually paired up with a 1070/1080. Going for a weaker as a 1060 doesnt gives any sense by scuh a CPU.

The i7 6700k is a perfect pair with the 1060 6gb, its what i have.
I meant it that going for something weaker as a 1060 isn't recommended. Its better then to get a better i5 instead a i7 and put the rest of the cash into a 6GB 1060 or higher.

Of course if somebody has a great deal for such a CPU, then he can go for it and simply switch the GPU later.

The 1060 is slightly more powerful than a 970, its very capable. The i7 6700k is a mid-high end 4 core processor and fits quite well with the 1060, especially since i use photoshop and premiere too.
I also use Photoshop primarily on this PC before games, so I went for Ryzen 1600. The 8th gen Intel wasn't arround that time. Didn't wanted go 6-7th gen Intel, due the socket not being supported anymore.
The many cores might be also benefitting later when 6-8 core CPUs becomes more common. Appareantly newer games optimized for many cores like Battlefield 1 run extremly well on those.

I7-6700k beats R5 and R7 OC to 4.1Ghz so nope.

Assassin's Creed Origins maybe, or Ashes of Singularity. But no mainstream AAA games utilises more cores, especially for AMD.

Skylake/Kaby Lake/Coffee Lake are all the same.
