144HZ MONITOR but stuck with 60 HZ help? (RARE CASE) ???
I bought a ASUS MG248QR (144HZ / 1 ms ) recently. I am using a Dvi-D cable to link my monitor to my pc. I know that dvi - d supports 144hz in 1920 x 1080p but each time i try to put a higher refresh rate than 60 hz, my screen becomes pixelised. i updated my drivers, my card is more than enough to support 144hz ( GTX 750 TI ) and i didnt find someone on the internet that has the same problem... If its a rare case, is my screen broken or wtf is happening? (ALSO: they gave me a display port but my GPU dosent have a port for this cable).

ASUS monitors (and maybe others) and DVI-D seem to be hit and miss. There are many posts about this on the web.

ASUS say that you have to use the cable that comes with the monitor but even then people (including me) say that it doesn't work and they have bought new cables from Amazon.

I have one cable that works fine on other monitors but not ASUS.

Look for HDMI or buy a adapter.
Are you sure your gpu supports 144hz?

What exact GPU brand, and model do you have?

You will not go above 60hz with HDMI, and you do not want adapter, you get exactly what is requires to use 144hz with the monitor, it will come with the cable that will allow 144hz, or you can check the manual if you want to use something else. But to reach above 100+hz it's always going to be DVI-Dual link, or Display port. Also wouldn't look at HDMI 2.0 as none of the monitors on the market even have it, other than 4k monitors.

To take advantage of a 144hz monitor, you need to be able to maintain 144+ fps.

Just use the display port cable

i have a gtx 750 ti (GIGABYTE | GV-N75TOC-1GI ) the thing is, they sent me only a display cable (no dvi - d cable) and my gpu only have 2 dvi entries, no display entries

my GPU has no display entry, does that mean that i need to upgrade my pc ? or i just got unlucky and took a gpu that has no display entry?

This your card?

Make sure you're using a DVI DUAL LINK cable.

Sounds like a bunch of bull 150 + fps more like 125 fps on what benchmarks?

It is my card but mine is the 2.1 version. I am using a DVI DUAL LINK cable (the one with the teeth on the sides). as u can see there is only 2 DVI and 2 HDMI , i think i just got unlucky a chose a gpu that dosent have a display port entry. :/ im gonna wait to upgrade my pc and get a gpu that accepts display port (i think its called G-sync or somethin) . or maybe ill return the screen and get another one, but i love this screen so far, so idk

If you like the monitor, then all you really have to get is a better GPU, also display port, is just called display port, there are version, but for 1080p you wouldn't have to worry which one you get, you can use the one you have that came with your monitor.

Also I want to double check with you.

Nvidia control panel, under Display > Change resolution, make sure you see the word PC, select your native screen resolution, and click on the refresh rate drop box, if nothing there, you can get a better GPU, or return the monitor to get something else.

A HDMI 2.0 cable until how many fps/hz could reach at 1080p with a 1080p ips monitor overclocked from 60 to 70 hz?
