Avast Remediation exe
Hi there,

For a few weeks it has been like this:
I boot up my laptop, when logged in wondows shows me a message that Avast antivirus is outdated. I checked in Avast itself, which said there was no update available. when clicking on the update message, a prompt shows with the title being "Avast remediation exe". No, there's no dot in front of the exe which i find suspicious.

I googled on it and got the file path in which it should be located, but mine's not there. (it's called wsc_proxy.exe). I did a C: search for it with no result.

Do any of you have a solution for it?

I'm using W10, on my desktop there's no such thing like this, both pcs have avast installed.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: spelling mistakes corrected

Run a scan with your antivirus. It sounds like a virus is pretending to be your antivirus to trick you into installing something.
Found the file...
Turns out i made another spelling mistake -_-

problem is gone now, but thanks for the responses anyway :)
Run a Full Scan with Malwarebytes 3.xx and ESET Free AV Scanner

I'm having the exact same problem right now (also Windows saying Avast is outdated, but Avast states it's up to date). Did you know how it got fixed? What did you do to fix it?
