K68 keyboard lights not working

I recently upgraded my pc and now my k68 mechanical keyboard leds don’t work when the pc is powered off and back on. Unplugging and plugging back in the cable fixes it.

i7 8700k, 16gb ddr4, gtx 1080 8gb, win 10 64bit

Plug it into the Black USB 2.0 Ports in the Rear of Motherboard.
When you power on a PC, Keyboard and Mouse never tend to light up right away anyways until the OS loads the USB Drivers.

My mobo doesn’t even have USB 2.0 on the back it’s all 3.1

Plug the Keyboard into the Top most USB (Yellow) in the Rear of Motherboard

But it lights up after the OS loads, correct?

It lights up when I first start the pc but when the os loads they turn off. Keyboard functionality still works

Yes, that is all normal. Then it should light back up once you reach the OS Desktop.

If not, try enable EHCI Hand-Off in the BIOS
As well as USB Legacy Mode/Support

ok enabled ehci hand off and usb legacy was already enabled. I tested and it seems to have fixed it, will let you know if it stays fixed.

ok i started it this morning and same problem leds are off

Changed the USB port my headphones were in (while pc powered off) and the keyboard lights up again. This is weird can’t work out what’s causing it. I also changed the USB power settings in windows - we’ll see if that makes a difference
