What do I need to upgrade?
I’m trying to stream like I used to do playing PS4. However my cpu can’t handle me playing PUBG and streaming at the same time. It crashes and lags a lot. What do I need to upgrade on my system to be able to? Here are my specs.

HP Pavilion Desktop PC 570-p0XX
Windows 10
Version 1607
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7400 CPU @ 3.00GHz 3.00GHz
16 GB Ram
64-but operating system, x64- based processor
Nvidia 1050 Ti

You said it yourself - the problem is the CPU. Although upgrading the GPU would also make sense for PUBG, as it's a demanding game.

Streaming puts a lot of load on your system, since it's having to perform two complex tasks at once. Given your CPU only has four cores and four threads, it's not very good at multi-tasking. And being a 7400 it's also relatively low powered, which makes the situation worse.

I recommend upgrading to a CPU with a lot more cores. AMD's Ryzen family and Intel's i7 family would be your best options, both offer serious performance with much better multi-tasking. But do note that both will also be expensive upgrades, as you'll need to buy from the very top of the model catalogue.

It's a huge waste of your money to upgrade a new machine like this. It's not even a year old.

Also update your Windows.

Get the i7-7700 and sell your i5-7400. Since you already have 16 GB RAM the i7 will help a lot with streaming and more demanding games.

This is one of the few times I'll advise picking up a 7700 non k, as you unlikely have an z series board and I have seen some really good deals on 7700's lately, which should allow you to stream far easier, at the cheapest outlay (I've seen them at around £200 new).

7700 non k? I’m not sure what that means. Should this fit on any tower/circuit board. Is there anyway you can link me to an amazon page or somewhere it is for sale?

The i7 7700 andi7 7700k will both work on your motherboard. But since I doubt that you have a z270 motherboard which you need for overclocking buying a i7 7700k would be a bit of a waste of your money. Zo it's better to get the non overclockable i7 7700.

But I say don't bother. Your CPU is new and will be solid for a few more years.

I think the point of the post is that the op wants to stream and play pubg and the i5 isn't going to cut it.

So like mentioned the 7700 is the best bet.

Sell the whole thing and start off fresh.

Your big mistake was buying before you knew what you wanted to do with it so don't try to band-aid it.

You should have started with a Ryzen 1600/1700.

Just sell it, intel and amd have moved away from mainstream 4 core processors, ya ya i7 7700k is good for straight gaming but you want to stream.

Ps, GTX 1050ti is bare bones entry these days so you might want to re-think that if you start over.

Pss, or just don't stream, sell off the gtx1050ti invest in GTX1070, problem solved.

Last Ps,

If you do go for the i7 go for the 7700K ^ with higher clocks than the vanilla i7 7700 non K.
