My mouse started randomly disconnecting. Help!
I bought this mouse less then a month ago its a Gigabyte XM300

So this started happening a few days ago my mouse started to randomly disconnect from windows and reconnect and sometimes it disconnected and stayed untill i unplugged it and plugged it back in saying "The last USB device plugged in malfunctioned..." when it says this in the device manager i see "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)"

I've tried to update drivers, switch USB ports from 3.0 to 2.0, uninstall my drivers, changing the power management schemes and it still isnt fixed. I dont know what to do about it anymore.

My specs are
Windows 10 64-bit
intel i5-6600k
ASUS GTX1060
8GB Kingston HyperX 2133MHz RAM
512GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD 2TB Seagate Barracuda HDD
And the only other USB device plugged in is my keyboard Natec Hake.
Also in the bottom right corner of my windows where the taskbar is it says i can safely remove hardware and eject media but as i said the only other USB is my keyboard.

Thanks in advance.

Almost certainly a problem with the mouse itself. Take it back to wherever you bought it and request a replacement, or a refund.

For future refference; stick to companies that specialise in making mice. Gigabyte make great motherboards and their Aorus GPUs are excellent. But that doesn't mean they're qualified to make mice. A Corsair M65 would be a much better, much more dependable option.

I have the same issue. It only happens when I start Steam so it is something steam is adding.

I've already sent my mouse back to get repaired so i cant really check if this was indeed the issue but if it was i'd be pissed :)

Admittedly it's a small sample size, but given two mice have had exactly the same problem that does imply an endemic issue with the mouse. If I were you, I'd just return it and buy something that's known to be reliable. Like a Corsair M65.

I took it to the shop for repair and they couldn't repair it so under the warranty i got a new XM300...

Ugh.. have you experienced like middle mouse button sometimes is not registering click and you have to press harder? How long you used your XM300?
