Zotac GTX 1070 mini question
Is anyone here running this card? If yes what kind of temps and GPU clock speeds are you seeing?

I have it. And runs around 75 degrees I think. Will confirm later and what clock speed it hits

So the last time I gamed (Destiny 2 last night) it hit 76 degrees and core clock was at 1898mhz

If I play more games tonight I’ll update again if there’s any difference.

I have seen it hit 79 degrees before though

Thanks

FYI; Pascal cards are very sensitive to temperature. When they get hot, they throtle and that effects your gaming performance. If you're going to buy a Pascal based card, at least get one with enough cooling to run properly. Otherwise you're wasting your money.

Mine hit 78 degrees just now but only running fan at 60%. I guess if someone was really worried they could adjust the fan curve for more cooling. But so far I’m not to concerned about the temp.

Do you have to buy a mini card because of SFF? A full sized card isn't much more expensive and will be better.

Gigabyte also has a mini 1070.

Personally I'd stick with zotac over gigabyte, never had much luck with gigabyte but zotac have always worked well, and a 5 year warranty once you register the card is pretty amazing.

Luck is a funny thing, I would've suggested the exact opposite.

I've used Gigabyte for years, particularly for Motherboards. I've never had a problem with them, they've always performed strongly, had good BIOS and been bulletproof over periods of years.

Honestly, I try to make sure my video card's OC software sets the fans to run at 100% . To prevent the throttling performance issues, use the NVIDIA Control Panel's Advanced 3D Settings menu and in the Global Settings tab, set the "Power Management Mode" setting to "Prefer maximum performance"...and then just use the "Advanced 3D Settings" option in the "Adjust image settings with preview" menu.

I’ll look into that maybe. I’ve read too that they won’t throttle till 83 degrees. So I’m still in the clear

Max temp tops out at 94c so 70-75c really isn't a concern.

Even the 1080 mini at 180w hits 76c which is fairly common.

Thanks for all the info everyone.

the 10 series, atleast for the ti can begin to slow down a bit from about 63 degrees, its when they hit the 80's they really drop in speed.

Core hit 1924mhz

They never "slow down" until they reach the throttle temp, which is whatever you set...
But the default is 85*C
You shouldn't be running anywhere near 80*C on any GPU anyways, if so your cooling is sub-par in your Case.

Zotec's default fan curve is really bad. I have zotec 1060 amp eidition. At default fan curve it easily hits 80°C. Because they wanted to make their cards quiet, so the fan will spin only 40-45% speed, unless you go above 80°.

So I take it then that a custom fan curve is a must with the Zotac cards right?
