Adding Parts to a refurbished PC
Hello, I've been considering what I want in a computer for a few weeks and I have finally figured out what i'm going to do.

I'm going to buy a refurbished PC on amazon which is still in good shape and has adequete pieces. Then I'm going to replace a processor or Graphics card.

Here are the PC's I found that are in the running.

https://www.amazon.com/HP-Quad-Core-Windows-10-Refurbished/dp/B01CV9G1BO/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1505064925&sr=1-1&keywords=desktop+pc&refinements=p_n_feature_five_browse-bin%3A7817224011%7C13580791011%7C13580790011%2Cp_n_feature_fourteen_browse-bin%3A2057441011%2Cp_36%3A-30000%2Cp_n_feature_keywords_two_browse-bin%3A8080209011

Alright this one has an intel core i5-3470 3.2GHz Quad core which will run at recommended levels on the games I like, so that's great. I don't even have to replace the Processor, just the Graphics Card.
8GB RAM
500GB Hard drive

https://www.amazon.com/HP-Processor-Professional-Certified-Refurbished/dp/B01JEFY2LE/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1505065604&sr=1-1&keywords=hp+6300+pro+small+form

This one I'm liking more. I'll still have to replace the graphics and that's it.
Intel core i5-3470 3.2GHz
16GB RAM
2TB Hard drive

All I'm asking is which graphics card I should get to run games like dead by daylight, alien isolation, pubg, rainbow six etc.

I would always check if it has a replaceable power supply - since is the no.1 part to die in most computers. Those cases look quite thin, maybe you are limited to weak HP made power supplies.

Ok, so should I just ask the seller about the power supply? Not quite understanding the weak HP power supplies, i'm pretty much a beginner.

Whats wrong with buying a pc and switching out old parts for new parts. I see it as a way to save money. My budget is basically saved if this works.

Because it's not got good enough specs to begin with, you might as well build a PC and get the raw power from the beginning.

The second PC seemed to be fairly powerful, I just don't understand what its lacking. Anything specific?

I can just replace the graphics card and power supply though. People recommend building a PC, is this not the same? I'm getting a bunch of parts from this PC which I can use and then replace the less adequate parts.

I don't really know what graphics card would even fit in that tiny space. I figure there'll be something out there for you....but I don't know what.
do not buy a SFF PC = small form factor

you have a problem finding a GPU to fit .. search for a normal PC

also on those old refurbs you yes will need a new power supply in most cases dell or HP systems have low end PSU's that are like 300 watt or less

the Small form factor ones will be expensive to replace the PSU

no it wonmt unless it comes with a half card slot

those SFF systems will not fit a full size Graphics card

the op needs to shop low profile cards if he wishes to keep that case + those Dells have a low end low watt PSU

ouch wait your right ....here is one ..

I've tried to build a number of PC's and been recommended tons but I have only found ones that are just too much for me to buy. This refurbished option is great to me because its so much less. I really wish the refurbished had worked. The processor alone is 3/4 of the price of the whole pc
