Is a CPU disabled when there was a short circuit ?

Hello,

I once had a short circuit due to my powersupply. The graphics card PCI plug and the mainboards USB plugs were disabled.

Does that mean the CPU is disabled too ?

Yeah, bought the acer predator 17 for 2150€. 1 year later and it still works like new :)

Will last a long time, keep it clean coz dust and heat u know.

For the future, spent a bit more on a psu, that's the most important part in your rig :3

Laptops are all made very cheap; no they can't detect or stand up to such things. No more then your average Desktop PSU can, which are very sensitive to such things.

All a UPS does that is protect against brownouts and data loss incase of power outage. UPS does not equal surge protector although it is almost impossible to find one these days without surge protection built in. If a laptop is plugged in the wall a surge can and will still fry it. However the battery does protect against brownouts and data loss which is what a UPS actually does.

Laptops are not Pre built PC from ibuypower/Cyberpower etc. Gaming Laptops are a Thousand Dollar equipment from Leading brands like ASUS, MSI etc. And comes with 3 years warrnaty. Because people can't change Laptops parts normally, they usually comes with high quality parts from factory, Not low quality.

I have used 4 laptops, never seen any cheap quality parts inside them. Don't confuse Pre-Builds with Good Brand Laptops.

True but laptop batteries are usually enclosed in a heavy casing instead of covered in plastic wrap like all phones do it these days. That makes them a bit safer and can sometimes contain a malcunction with the battery.
