In my case, that never occurred although the rest of the steps were accurate. If anyone is reading this, take a half hour or so and save your file history. In my case, the files are all retrievable because I had done a backup every night on my external drive. While I am less, annoyed now that the backups ended up working, I hope they will at least reword the last paragraph of their instructions to indicate their is a likely chance that all your data will be gone no matter what. Be forewarned!
I'm also still hoping to play my games on this system, but won't be paying for them twice (once when i originally bought them, and being required to pay again to download them to SteamOS).
Wrapping up on a good note, the rest of the experience in the OS has been very quick, light weight and impressive. This version also has Ice Weasel as the browser, and I have a white ferret so that brought a few laughs. :) :) :)
There were no viruses either, altough that would have been stressful! - @Pop
Not all games have a SteamOS version. If they do have a SteamOS version, you don't have to buy it again, provided that the game uses Steam Play.
He's quizzing you because your suggestions are so wildly off the mark, it's clear you have no clue what you're talking about, and what the problem here is. Making you think for a second may give you a lightbulb moment and stop you from further messing up the troubleshooting here.
