Can intel HD graphics 630 run at 144hz?
I just built my new pc and i don't have a graphics card yet, but i have a 144hz monitor and a dual link DVI to connect to motherboard. I just updated the drivers but i still dont see an option for 144hz in the display settings. Thanks in advance for the help

This is fairly old monitor, it has no files for Windows 10.

Never needs one anyways; all those are for is an RGB Profile, nothing else.

For Intel you may need to go to Advanced and input a custom res + refresh

Where do I go for that?

Right click Intel Graphics icon
Graphics Options
Custom Resolutions
when asked, click OK

Select the Display Model on left hand side.
Now add custom Res + Refresh
1920
1080
144

Now click +ADD

Once finished, now that should be available to select via Right Click Desktop > Screen Resolution

Yeah I just figured that out and tried it and it gave me the message "The custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity."

Honestly, get yourself an actual decent Gaming GPU and this wont be an issue.

As a rule of a thumb, every GPU can set any monitor mode. I.e. if monitor can support specific mode you can set it using any GPU.

Yeah i'm saving up for one, the GPU prices are still kinda high right now, was interested in buying a 6GB GTX 1060.

That was comedy gold discussion gents, talking about monitor, when UHD 630 doesn't do 144Hz (doubt any intel gpu did) :steamhappy::isd_star:

Plus most Monitors are required to use DisplayPort for the higher refresh such as 144hz if the Monitor has DP. Plenty of monitors may offer mutiple inputs, such as DVI, HDMI, and DP. But it's usually only one of them that will do the high refresh the Display was designed to use for PC Gaming

Which model monitor is it?

There is no point setting Intel GPU to 144hz as it would just have it run the 3d clocks at all times with zero benefits. Just wait til you get a decent dedicated gpu card.

When you do, make sure to switch the monitor to the correct input and physically connect to the dedicated gpu via the connection that's required for the 144hz prior to turning the PC on. Then the display will run off the dedicated gpu instead of the Intel

Get at least a GTX 1660 Ti or RTX 2060 Super if going with NVIDIA. GTX 10xx arent really an option anymore, they are no longer made. GTX 1060 wouldn't be a good option for high refresh rates anyways
