Depending if your motherboard can over clock an i7 2600 a Ryzen 1700 would be a bit of a side grade.
I would also say wait for 2018 Zen 2 and intels i5 8xxx line up that's supposed to have 6c/6t.
Ps, I'm limping through 2017 with an FX8350 until 2018 then I'll decide between the newer intel coffeelake and AMD Zen 2.
Sure ok I could have the endless sea of intel lakes mixed up , what ever lake shows up in to 2018 that's an i5 6c/6t
