In canadian $$ the 1070 is about $600 and the 1080 is $700. I can't decide whether I should just fork over the extra 100 for the 1080 or get the 1070 and regret not just spending the extra 100 for the 1080. wyd

get the 1080 it will give you headroom of 5+ years before you even need a new graphics card.

If you can afford the 1080, get it, if not then just grab the 1070. Also what is your full system specs, out of curiosity?

It's funny how the 1080 used to go for $900, now it's dropped to $700 all over the place in Canada, as soon the TI came out, but the 1070 hasn't had a price drop, or barely any price drop for it.

GTX1080 would last you a year or two more than the gtx1070. Depending on the monitor and games.

And even now, gtx1080 can just about handle 1440p 60hz. Thats why i upgraded to gtx1080ti to run my 1440p 144hz monitor (which it cannot really do either).

GTX1080. It's only $100 more expensive, but it gives a lot more than $100 worth of extra power. It'll last you years before you have to upgrade again, and should hold it's value better than the smaller card.

GTX 1080 is £90 more than a 1070 in the uk so went for the 1080 :) it's a crazy situation but thanks to the miners I got a better card that will last me longer

1070's real price was $350. Miners made it $450. So basically you are getting a $350 product for $450. ..................,$100 loss.

But GTX 1080 wasn't affected by mining at all. It's $520 now. And it was $520 always. Even more at first......................., $00 Loss.

gonna be getting a ryzen 1600 along with 16 gb of ddr4 3000mhz ram so that shouldnt be a bottleneck, but I'm thinking i might just get the 1080 to leave some room for monitor upgrades in the future. Not currently on 4k, but definitely will
