Normal temp for GTX 1070 Founders Edition?
So during game sessions, I've recording the temp are around 70-73 *c and OCing turns it to 75-76 *c. Is this normal? I have 1 large fan in my case which seems to keep it very cool, I have it programmed to be at 100% fan speed at all times to have the best effect and I have a few fans in my room which helps lower the temperature though when I put my hand close to the backplate of the GPU, I can feel the heat. It's not much but should I be worried?

P.S The case has 3 open meshes for large breathing room and is cleaned at least once a week

75c is normal.

Worry when the GPU gets close to 90c.

coz of the blower design ,it's normal.
Alternative, u could sell the fe and buy a 1070 with custom cooling or diy and buy a cooling kit from arctic cooling or so.

Okay, thanks. I just wanted to make sure.

Why did you buy a 1070 FE and not an aftermarket one? They are generally cheaper, faster due to factory overclock and have better cooling.

Because of bitcoin. My card I bought was the cheapest I could find among many sites which was $360. Every other card I found was either $480 or $600 which is insane

Any GPU = under 85*C is safe

I push my 1080 to 84C all day long on overclock. No worries. I just have the "crappy" stock unit. lol. It sucks and all. One fan and bad design right? Nvidia wasn't stupid making it.

Just manually change the fan curve so it cools it down better.

I do agree.

Founders Edition can do this easy:
Power Target: 110%
Temp Target: 84C
GPU Clock Offset: +200
Mem Clock Offset: +300

And that is being nice.

The temp target will overcompensate for any fan curve.

I can max overclock on MSI Afterburner and it keeps cool at 75 C.

The new cards are designed to run as hot as possible with as much clock as possible.

We are not talking about AMD cards here.

Set the Temp Target to like 80*C instead; use MSI Afterburner and click the Chain Icon to break the link between Power and Temp limits. That way these two can be set separately.

If you say so... none of my GPUs hit over like 60*C, no matter what...

But FE are the poorest GPUs; hands down.

I hate MSI afterburner. I use EVGA tool instead. I see it working a lot better.

That just shows you have more room to work with. Or you are chicken to push it more.

Intel and Nvidia can take a lot of heat easy.

Many years of proof running things hard 24/7 for many years straight (5+ years straight). Intel and Nvidia does not build crap.

Depends on what you want, all modern GPU auto overclock with GPU boost. It's a combination of temperature, voltage and power, so running cooler MAY increase core clock a bit. Temperature target is not affecting it beyond downclocked the card if it hits the temp target.

Overall for normal use, it's all good you shouldn't bother at all. But if you are trying to clear that benchmark score it's a lot complicated. Most people modded card BIOS for a start.

Fairly normal temp for a blower style reference card.
