I might get a Vega Radeon.

But I still want to keep my 1050Ti (I like using PhysX in the Arkham Games)

I'll probably be content with it for a while. I was looking torwards the Vega 56 as an upgrade path. There's no way I can or will upgrade only a few days after finishing my PC!

I won't eat it. I'll probably give it to a friend.

When I upgrade, I can just make a cheap Celeron PC and start mining.

And then sell the EOL card on Ebay for like $700.

You're on a Core 2 Quad.

Even a G4560 would crush it.

Intel will keep socket 1151 for at least one more gen which it has been using for 2 gens now (But the new CPUs will require another chipset..).

AMD has promised to support AM4 until 2020.

Well, PCIE Gen 4 is coming...
And? PCI-e is backwards compatible. Even PCI-e gen 2 is still solid for modern GPUs.

I have two PCIe 2.0 slots.

One is x16, one is x1.

The rest are PCI slots.

Agreed. The Vega 56 should be a nice upgrade from my RX 470 - if I can find one at a reasonable price.
