This brand is DeepCool; avoid them at all costs.
If you want a good LQ types; look at EVGA, CORSAIR, NZXT, EKWB
They are cheap, worse quality but cheap. 240 Captain EX cost about the same as NH-D15, perform similar to NH-D15 albeit at high noise, crap quality, leak, dead pump everwhere BUT they do have 1 year warranty.
Would u recommend a no-name China PSU? I don't think so.
Play it safe with an air cooler, LQ should not be tried to be done on lower budgets.
Yep, every AIO or even custom loop liquid carry the risk of leak. Even Corsair does NOT cover for leak damage, they do it because they are good but if they want to it is NOT covered under warranty. So they can stop doing it at any time they want, quite a common misconception that Corsair cover for hardware leak. They cover for the AIO only.
What I was trying to say is: When buying a AIO don't go cheap. When you buy cheap you buy twice (In this case you will buy a whole new rig when you go cheap).
Would I recommend it based on quality? NO. But OP want a white theme cooler and this is the best looking white theme cooler out there, bar none. Seriously, unless you mod.
Phanteks has them, they are just as good as those sizes from Noctua; and they come anodized in certain colors; Black, White, Blue, Red... and have a solid color fan to match those that you buy in those colors.
That is a common misconception. Corsair is far and wide no longer the best AIO, tons of manufacturer surpassed it heavily. In fact Corsair AIO have always been kind of mediocre WHILE it does indeed beat Noctua at the expense of sounding like a Jet engine, the good thing is it is AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE AND BACKED BY GOOD WARRANTY. Even crappy Coolermaster Master Liquid beat Corsair.
Fractal Desgin new AIO win any Air cooler hands down. Unfortunately, Air cooler is heavily limited by its available real estate and is not improving as fast as AIO. Hopefully Coolermaster can come up with something, it is the ONLY company currently invest in making a different approach to air cooling with closed loop heatpipe and 3DVC. Right now, Air cooler (HSF) has hit a wall in performance, AIO does not.
It was kind of OK when we have 4 core i7 as the mainstream hot CPU. Now that both AMD and Intel are focusing on HEDT then AIO is gaining a lot of advantage.
That's an interesting point about the newer CPUs changing the landscape of things, but I wonder if it really makes a difference like you suggest. The newer CPUs are faster and in some cases have more cores, sure, but their TDP is the same or even lower. The only way to know for sure would be to look at up-to-date benchmarks. Still, there's absolutely no reason to go watercooling for a non-OC i7, much less an i5, unless just for looks.
While it is a light brown, it's so close to white that it's hardly noticable.
