nah IPS has the highes color accuracy and an outstanding color brightness. So you have by far the most accurate picture (colorwise). Downside is the higher input lag (still not as high you need to worry about it) and that it is costwise one of the most expensive compared TN or VA.

Backlight bleed or dark color are no problem at all that has nothing to do with the IPS but with the backlight (LED) technology. there 2 different technologies (for all backlight panals). 1 that runs all LED's over the same circuit and therefor can only deactivate all LED's at once. The more expensive technology is to control all LED's on their own (which nearly all good gaming display do). To get a deep black color the LED will turn off and therefor you have a deep black as possible.

Gray to gray response time is not the same as input latency. Too many people think this, and do not understand GTG ratings.

There are plenty of IPS panels that are on par, or even beat, TN panels on overall latency.

It honestly depends on your budget, as lower budgets can typically buy a good TN panel but not a good IPS panel.

IPS\SFT - better for designers, preprint
TN - have terrible colors, bleeding eyes
VA\MVA\PVA - optimal balance
PLS - like IPS Next more cheaper, faster
and there are modifications - IPS is not single type, it's family: S-IPS, eIPS, AH-IPS, AS-IPS, etc.

AHVA is basically AU Optronic IPS designed for high refresh rate and low gtg response rate. You will most often find this in Acer, ASUS or AOC 144Hz-165Hz IPS panel. Downside is it's prone to BLB and defects more. Not to be confused with VA. I have AHVA monitor and it's 99% sRGB + 4ms gtg.

Also I would usually avoid Ultrawide as not all games support Ultrawide. UWFHD is also quite meh, I would just get 1440p monitor.

Ye, actualy inputlag means the circuit inside the monitor from HDMI > Panel.

TN = Terrible colors... i had a Eizo FS2735, Benq XL2540 and both had amazing colors, and yes i know the Eizo is a IPS Monitor this is why i compare them together.
It depends on the Price and Brand not if it's TN or IPS.
A casual and normal person would tell the difference between two good TN-IPS panels.

It is a little more complicated than that.

No monitor states input lag on the specs. They state the measurement of the pixel response, which is typically measured gray to gray (GTG). That is not input lag.

Lots of factors can go into how quickly (or slowly) your input latency will be.

ips has much better viewing angle if you want to watch a movie in bed and look at your pc monitor from afar ips is the way to go!

Nice trolling!
Btw, peoples like me is professional designers, that work in preprint, indoor \ outdor advertising, work with all known types of monitors since CRT era, all versions programs like photoshop, illustrator, corel, quarkxpress, mac, powerpc, indigo station, etc.
I have a classical art education, I'm an artist, and I distinguish more colors and shades than the average person, and I see artifacts of color and textures well.

TN-IPS panal??? lol good job. those are 2 completly different panal type. And there is a huge difference in those 2 types. a casual person can instantly see the difference of both panal types simply by the color accuracy and depth.

which would u prefer Ultra wide / Wide screen or normal if u do stuff like those and gaming i feel like with ultra wide or widescreen there is more space to work on what do u think
