Instead of just saving up the rest for a 1080 Ti
What resolution and FPS target area are you looking to run at?
1070 can do it at 1440p, but 1080 is much better.
1080 Ti is best for 4k
There WILL be dips below 60 fps. Especially for 4K, you won't be able to maintain 55 fps average.
1070 is a bit much sometimes for overall performance needs for something like 1080p
But getting it would most likely mean it lasts you longer before another GPU upgrade is needed down the road, compared to a 1060
and what Bad_motha wrote is that you can do the same with a 1060 6GB which is true. Only advantage is that you wont need to upgrade as soon with the 1070 but its not needed for 1080p ultra 60 fps+
not really. Most ppl think exactly the way that they get a GTX 1080 for 1080p 60Hz with the argument of being future proof. In the end they would have even been cheaper to get a GTX 1060 6GB and upgrade to a 1080 when the GTX 20 series (Volta) has been relesed and prices drop instantly into the ground. a GTX 1060 6GB + a GTX 1080 at that time is cheaper then buying a GTX 1080 right away.
Not so extreme with GTX 1070 but still in the end more expensive.
