Monitor Decision
Im looking to purchase a new monitor as the one i am currently using isnt very good. I am new to the PC market and i am not fully understanding of all the technical specs. The monitor which i am currently using is a: HKC 2276H 21.5 inch LED Monitor - Full HD 1080p, 2ms Response, HDMI

The monitor which i am looking to purchase is a: ViewSonic VX2457-mhd 24-inch Full HD Gaming Monitor with AMD FreeSync (1ms 1080p VGA HDMI DisplayPortSpeakers) - Black

I had a little look into it and found that my Nvidia graphics card i use will not benefit from any of the features. Meaning that the 144Hz and 2ms response time will have no effect. I have been searching for a while for a 144Hz monitor which is below the £150 mark. The current graphics card i am using is a Nvidia GeForce GTX1060 purchased March this year.

Hopefully you can give me some advice what to do and possibly give me another option for a 144Hz monitor under that £150 mark which will really help me! I play a lot of FPS games thats why i am not really bothered about the response time. Refresh rate is a must though.

I should mention i usually play H1Z1 and CSGO. Both of which i pull about a 240 fps.

how would my mouse or keyboard change anything to do with this?

a good gaming mouse with high DPI and refreshrate has a way smoother movements and respond time. Not only making them faster but also more accurate. Thats actually the reason why those professionals are as good as they are (not to mention the skill).
Okay. So what would you guys suggesting to upgrade with my setup so I can see people the same time they see me?
well defently not a monitor at all. you have a <2ms monitor and upgrading to a <1ms givey you 0.1% of a second improvement... mostlikely it about your graphic settings (to low) and and your internet.
Or simply about skill.
Fair enough if its skill im ♥♥♥♥ lol. MG1 after 193 hours

None of the Monitors are that fast, thats the GTG timing, nothing more.

Pros turn their graphics right down though? Its very rare that the pros run on high graphic settings as they want better FPS. Surely the graphics i play on wont mean i cant see ppl before they can see me
pros get high fps on high settings

and that wrong. pros play at high settings as they ant to have a clear picture tos ee what they have to see instead of (i know thats over the line) going for minecraft graphic and dont see in time what they have to see.

Okay. Take for example CSGO and H1Z1 pros. Why do they have their config settings for graphics all down to low and resolution low too?
they dont. name me one pro that does. That pro would go for low resolution and settings and 700+ fps is a myth made up by some kids. Go into ESL and ask how all those palyers play (not that those matches get streamed where you even could see that they play at high settings).

No actual pro I know turns the graphics down (and I'm talking world wide MLG events that are big events with top tier MLG types, not average Twitch streamer types) not one bit because they have systems and hardware overall that can handle it. The only ones doing this are those who can't afford better hardware so they turn down visuals to gain FPS. Which doesn't make sense to push 300 FPS on a 60Hz Display, many of whom are still on VGA Output which is just silly.

I rechecked it and was suprised that indeed most csgo player in the top 30 ranking go for a 144Hz and msot of them at a monitor with 720p resoultion (just cant figure out why) with their hardware they could get easy 144 fps + constantly even with smoke at higher resolution. Only few go higher resolution.

What however they all have in common is that they take high DPI mouses and high refresh rate on their mouse. Also so play with lowest sensitivity as everyone does for more accurate aiming.

If I look at CoD or BF it changes again but they also have the mouse and the sensitivity in common.
144+ Hz is a must because then u are getting actual fast timing and actual frame draws for those high FPS #s Many of them have moved away from BenQ/Zowie and gone for the 1080p @ 240Hz which also yes, makes more sense now that its been out. 1080p is ok because going above that for games like CSGO or H1Z1, all you do is stress a GPU when you don't need to, as on 1080p, their i7 will drive that well and fine all day long so they don't need a better GPU beyond a certain point.

300 FPS might "feel" better to you, even on a 60Hz Display, but cmon folks, that means you only ever will see 60 FPS at any given time.

So with this monitor i have im only pulling 60fps? On games like CSGO and H1Z1 it says im pulling 350-400ish
That was when i had high graphics as well
