And for gaming, aim for a decent monitor.
What's your budget btw.?
I haven't really decided on a budget, just wanting some suggestions and opinions, but wouldn't spend over $1000.
Spend the money on a newer rig
For example kabylake i5 + 1060 6gd5

~ $890 *optional i5k and a z270 Mainboard, but only if u wanna do overclocking.
Not worth it. New CPU and GPU both need a new Socket which means a new MoBo. Also those new Motherboards require DDR4 tho you could use you DDR3 could be used with Z270 MoBo but is not advised.
So in the end it runs to a new system tho you could re-use your optical drive, HDD/SSD andy maybe PSU and Case. If you have a license sticker on the case (Windows 7 or better) dont throw it away.
Ok, thanks guys, I probably won't be getting a new PC anytime soon so I guess I will just have to run with it.
Will already be a significat upgrade in performance.
Nothing AMD FM2 runs games "well" anymore.
The best CPU on FM2 is only as good as Intel 6th Gen Pentium...
Most older Mobile CPUs run circles around those FM2 CPUs.
By far are all miles ahead of anything offered on FM2/FM2+ socket.
yeah but also incl MoBo prices on a price catogory of an i5 in many countries...
