Acer Switch Alpha 12 - alternative for a laptop?
Hello all you tech-savvy guys and gals. Was wondering if anyone had any experience or expert opinions on using the before mentioned device to run steam games.
I have a gaming rig for the high end stuff, but I am looking for a new device to bring along when I travel. The games I will likely play on it will be:
-Darkest dungeon
-Mordheim
-Battlefleet gothic
-Stellaris
-Civilization V
-Blood bowl LE
-Transport fever

and maybe others akin to these.

The specs on the device I am concidering are the following:

Acer Switch Alpha 12
OS: Windows 10 home
Processor: Intel Core i3 6100U dual core 2.3 GHz
Memory: 4GB LPDDR3
Harddrive: 96 GB SSD
Gfx: Intel HD Graphics 520 integrated
Screen res: 2160x1440

Will it be good enough to play these games (or at least most of them), or are there better alternatives within this pricerange?

Any help would be much appreciated.

no that laptop has no GPu just an iGPU which is not strong enough espacially not on that resolution.
Look for an i7-7700HQ and a GTX 1050 Ti 4GB or GTX 1050 4GB

It can do internet and Microsoft Word.

What is your budget?

If you want a tablet type device that can game, look for one with Intel Iris graphics. They are usually paired with an i7. That will be fine for low end gaming. It's going to be expensive though.

I don't want to spend more than app. 650-670 Euros on it. I will soon have to upgrade my primary gaming rig as well, and get a new phone, so I am limited in my budget.

I was looking into a 2 in 1 surface type device because I currently do not own a tablet, and I don't play any graphics intensive games when I use my laptop. As I stated, its stuff like Darkest Dungeon and Civ V I'll be playing on it.

Well, that laptop is good enough for Darkest Dungeons, but that game runs on a toaster.
CivV will be stretching it, a lot.
And with that budget your options are pretty much inexistent regarding gaming capable portable computers.

Well, when I look at the minimum/recommended specs for Civ V, it's supposedly sits somewhere in between them. Shouldn't it be able to handle the game properly then, or am I missing something?
Cant these specs be trusted or will the game run like ♥♥♥♥♥ even on the lowest settings? (eg. CPU turns taking several minutes).

Just Google each game and Intel integrated graphics to see if people can run your games without a discrete GPU. If I was you, I'd search for a used tablet with an i5/i7 and Iris graphics. Anything with an i3 is a low end Internet browsing only device.
