What company name was on the box or was there any model or company name on the UPC (barcode) sticker? I would tend to avoid no-name cards. Nvidia may make the graphics chip, but other companies make the card. I had a cheap Galaxy GT 430 once that began failing (in Win7 and Linux) just after its 1 year warranty expired.

I have never had any problems with EVGA GTX 550 Ti (3 yr warranty), MSI GTX 750 Ti, or current Asus GTX 1060.

If it's a real Galax GPU, then why the Stickers and Brand logos are not there...??Could be a Chinese knock-off of the real Galax. Just like China made Nike and Adidas knock-off shoes.

Run some benchmarks and compare your result with this chart, to know at least it perform like a Gtx 1070. - http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1731

That's the point. Look at the ''SubVendor'' field, it says- Nvidia. Subvendor Field should show the 3rd party manufacturer by whom the GPU belongs to. Such as- Gigabyte/ MSI/ Asus etc. In OP's case it should show ''Galax". certainly not Nvidia. Because it's not a Founders Edition original Nvidia Brand Card. Means something is wrong. May be modified Bios or anything + Missing Stickers fact. Only Real world gaming benchmarks can conferm if it is a real GTX 1070 GPU or not.

look at the ''Subvendor'' field in the following examples---

Rightclick Windows start button > Device manager > Display Adapters > Rightclick GPU > Properties > Details > Properties > Hardware ids

Mine is PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_67B0&SUBSYS_93951682&REV_80

But yes you are right subvendor should indeed not says Nvidia unless its a refference model.

KFA2 is also a legit brand. I used to have one of their 550 Ti white editions. Damn nice budget card for 2011!
