Ryzen 7 1700. You will also need a decent GPU.

Thought of a 1050 ti. Dont want to spend that much on the gpu cause the only Game i wanna play is csgo. Or which would you prefer?

uhm rendering is more demanding then playing games. far more demanding. Depending on what you try to render I would even recommend a Quadro P6000 espacially with the 24GB VRAM. But thats far outside your budget.

Source Filmmaker, according to google, uses Sources engine. I doubt it uses more than 2 cores. But I never heard about this program before, so I cannot be sure.

Fair, you don't need Quadro graphics to run Half-Life 2.

Rendering, youd want an i7 or a Ryzen 1700

All there is to it really

P1000 for ~ 340 bucks, fair enough for 4gd5. :wizard:

What engine does it use? It seems, everyone hears words "film maker" and remembers that film making needs a lot of processing power. They heared that somewhere in the google...

The source engine. You can make your own little movies and animations with it

It was a rhetorical question. So that a person can reflect on whether there is a difference between this program and the game on the same engine.

The gpu u should aim for, for rendering, very common in professional cad/3d software, but not in games. Few benefits over geforce. ECC support, double-percision feature.
A Gtx will work too, but will work slower. But 2-3x the price of Geforce.

But not sure how well sfm will work with a workstation gpu.

If you just try to render little clips that take just 30 minutes with a normal GeForce then there is no need for it. But if you try to render a whole pixar animation movie or a special effect movie then of course take a Quadro to render only 24h instead of 72h+
