I fear that if I'm able to trigger the ananoly like this, that it could prove to be a deeper issue... ?
Correction: it MUST be the GPU. The artefacting is only happening in the area of the screen which is displaying 3D images. I think something is wrong with the GPU die.
When paused at the frame, the first artifact is just a sudden black tint to the lower section of the screen. As for the second, a sudden white tint appears. (I've caught it a sudden blue and purple before on Chrome and the dekstop before as well).
Is it possible that the CPU could be at fault? How probable is that as compared to the GPU?
1. Run DDU in safe mode, wipe the drivers, and download the latest, or try older drivers for your GPU.
2. RMA the GPU, or test GPU in a spare system, or use a spare GPU to test the PCI-e slot on your system.
EDIT: Though pushing the windows key whilst in a fullscreen application still triggers it.
if that does not work try changing from full screen to borderless window
Also tweak the video settings of the game . For instance lower the video quality .
Is it just videos having trouble with?
- If yes then likely you're seeing bad encode videos that were uploaded, that making you think there a problem.
- If no, and happening in games, and etc as well, then are you overclocking? Did ensure cable not loose, or check to ensure the display not the problem?
