Sticky Cherry MX Brown switch - best way to clean?
So I have a CM Storm QuickFire MX Brown keyboard, and spilled something on it. I dried the keyboard out over a couple of days, however a few of the switches themselves are very sticky (slow release after pressing them) and need to know of the best way to clean it.

I was reading about and noticed 99.9% cleaning alcohol + q-tips seems to work. Is this a good idea? Don't want to have to fork out another £90 for another keyboard

This link on Reddit is probably the best guide you'll ever find for keyboard maintenance.

Most people/guides recommend using similar alcohol products. 99% pure Isopropyl Alcohol.

if you push the switch down and put in some lube for 3d printer threads, it will loosen the key up
"3D Printer Parts Grease Lube Oil"
works a charm

You can take a photo of the keyboard layout or look it up later on online with a smartphone / other device. Then gently pull all the keys off, upwards from diagonal corners of each key. Shouldn't need much force and just click off.

Then get a bowl of warm water with some dish washing detergent. Place all the keys into that.

While they are soaking, wipe down the keyboard itself.

Then take each key out, rub clean, soak again, and place on a towel to dry.

When all the keys are dried, by air or wiping, place them back into the keyboard in the correct layout.

Enjoy your brand new keyboard.

EDIT: Ahh, sorry didn't notice it's a grave dug topic... twice...
